ISWB Reception is divided into two stages;  Reception Year 1 and Reception Year 2.

The Curriculum

Our holistic curriculum focuses on the whole child and connects their development with the world and people around them.

This phase is used as a planning tool and the learning statements within it are designed to promote progession in learning onwards into primary education.

Reception Years

Cambridge Reception prepares students for the next stage by developing knowledge, understanding and skills. It is designed to meet the needs of young learners, and is based on international best practice from around the world.
It provides valuable insights into children’s progress for the next stages of their learning and development.

Our approach

The programme builds on these key principles:

*Active children involved in their own learning that develops competence, agency, emotional attachment and self-worth.
*Balance of physical, cognitive, language and communications, and social and emotional development.
*Play-based and child centred.
*Transition successfully to primary school.
