Cambridge Curriculum

Cambridge International Examinations developed and overseen by the University of Cambridge, who are renowned for excellence in education, is the world’s largest provider of international educational programs and qualifications for children aged between 5 – 19 years. More than 9000 schools in over 160 countries are part of the Cambridge learning community.

Cambridge pathway students at ISWB have thee chance to acquire the knowledge and skills they need to achieve at school, university and beyond. The four stages lead seamlessly from primary to secondary and pre-university years.

ISWB RECEPTION YEARS

Provides a curriculum framework to develop English, Mathematics, and Science skills, knowledge and understanding in younger students. It enables teachers to assess children’s learning as they progress at the cross over between years. It aids identification of a student’s strengths and weaknesses and can support learning and development. It provides students with excellent preparation so they can progress seamlessly into ISWB Primary.

ISWB PRIMARY

ISWB Primary is divide into two stages: Key stage 1 and Key stage 2. Key stage 1 are Years 1, 2 and 3. Key Stage 2 are Years 4,5 and 6.

ISWB LOWER SECONDARY

This course has been developed, for children in Years 7 and 8, to link seamlessly with the educational foundation gained in primary years 1 to 6. The Junior Secondary curriculum is standardized world-wide to allow the careful monitoring of a child’s progression when compared with children internationally and provides excellent preparation for International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE)

UPPER SECONDARY: – IGCSE

Cambridge IGCSE (Year 9 and 10) encourages student-centered and enquiry-based approaches to learning. It develops students’ skills in creative thinking, enquiry and problem solving, giving them excellent preparation for the next stage in their education

CAMBRIDGE: AS/A LEVELS

ISWB students find Cambridge International A Levels very flexible. Schools can offer almost any combination of the wide choice of subjects available. Students have the freedom to select the subjects that are right for them - they either follow a broad course of study, or specialise in a particular area
